December is a good time to be buying a new car or two in India and this is because of the discounts that you are going to get on them. As far as the hatchbacks are concerned you can save a great amount of money on the diesel version of Honda Jazz. In fact, you would be able to save up to INR 85,000 on this car thanks to the discounts being offered on the same. As opposed to its rivals Honda Jazz has not sold as much.
Apart from that, you can also save up to INR 65,000 on Hyundai i20 and i20 Active, the exact same amount on Maruti Wagon R, up to INR 26,000 on Tata Tiago, and up to INR 35,000 on Toyota Etios Liva.
Discounts on sports utility vehicles (SUVs)
As far as the SUVs are concerned you can save a maximum of INR 65,000 on Mahindra XUV500. The car can seat seven people and its diesel engine packs plenty of punch as well. It also comes with plenty of equipment as well. However, right now it is getting more than its fair share of competition from the likes of Renault Captur, Jeep Compass, and Hyundai Creta. It is expected that if it can introduce a bit more advanced and powerful variant in the days ahead it would survive this phase.
Alongside that, you would be able to save up to INR 1.10 lakh on Renault Duster AMT, up to INR 78,000 on Tata Hexa, and up to INR 1 lakh on Tata Safari Storme.
Discounts on sedans
The best discount that you are going to get in this regard is the one on Audi A3 diesel. It has a maximum discount of INR 4.5 lakh. This sedan has a cabin that has been built really well and comes with plenty of equipment as well. One problem with the interiors is, however, the lack of space.
Aside from Audi A3 diesel, you would also be able to save a maximum of INR 1 lakh on Maruti Ciaz diesel, up to INR 75,000 on Toyota Corolla Altis, up to INR 32,000 on Tata Tigor, up to INR 68,000 on Tata Zest, and up to INR 85,000 on Volkswagen Ameo.
Discount on multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs)
As far as the MPVs are concerned the best discount is being offered by Toyota Innova Crysta where you get up to INR 1 lakh. This version of Innova is a second generation one. It has plenty of space and this is one reason why you are able to sit with plenty of comfort in the car. The ride quality is also really great. There are, however, some problems with the car in the sense that the steering is on the heavier side and you do feel disgusted when you are in that car stuck in a traffic jam. It still remains the best MPV in India.
You can also save a maximum of INR 95,000 on the diesel version of Maruti Ertiga.
