Audi India adds a new member to its pack with the launch of its brand new beast, the Audi RS5 Coupé. The RS5 Coupé is Audi’s second launch in India this year following the launch of the Q5 SUV in January 2018.
How Robust? : The new compact sized 2.9-litre bi-turbo engine successfully competes with the 4.2-litre V8 engine that inhabits its forerunner’s (A5 and S5) hoods, yet dishes out, the same power and torque (450hp delivering 600Nm). Audi also claims a 17 percent spike in fuel efficiency that brings up the Coupé’s mileage up to 10.8kmpl.
What’s the Gallop Speed? : The new Audi RS5 Coupé boasts the power to spring from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 250 km/h. Raw statistics show that it proudly upholds its predecessor’s repute of exhibiting brute force.
Is it a Beaut? : A three-spoke, flat bottom, multifunctional steering wheel sits magnificently on the Coupé’s impressive dashboard. The sporty front seats come with the option of exquisite Nappa leather and are electronically adjustable, complete with memory and massage function for the driver. The carbon fibre rooftop shaves off a cool 60kgs off the Coupé’s total weight. A few honourable mentions in the extensive list of features that the Audi RS5 offers are – three-zone air-conditioning, Alcantara leather upholstery, matrix LED headlights, aluminium finished pedals and a sunroof with a panoramic view.
What’s the damage?: For a cool 1.29 crore (on road price), you can own the coolest toy in town. One of the many reasons the Audi RS5 Coupé will prove a worthy adversary to the likes of Mercedes AMG C63 and BMW M4 in the Indian automobile market.
